Dr. Eliezah Titus Busonga is a distinguished healthcare professional and public health advocate, renowned for his extensive work in improving access to healthcare in underserved communities. He has served as our Executive Director since January 2010 and was appointed to lead the Department of Surgery at RHU Hospitals nationwide in 2013.
Under his leadership, Dr. Busonga has overseen the construction of seven health centers, provided strategic guidance to the surgical department, and contributed to the successful training of over 300 medical residents. His direction has supported more than 2,100 surgical procedures and improved healthcare access for over 260,000 patients.
With a strong background in medical research and health policy, Dr. Busonga has dedicated his career to advancing innovative healthcare solutions, particularly in Uganda. His expertise spans key public health areas, including nutrition, preventive care, and community health education, with a focus on creating sustainable, community-driven health initiatives.
Dr. Busonga’s profound experience in gender, diversity, culture, and social development has been pivotal in driving the successful design and implementation of community-based programs, fostering health equity and resilience across diverse populations.
