We believe that a healthy community is more productive, more happier and more appreciative to life. This is why we relay on community healthcare development to deliver clinical and health care support services to poor people.
We are now focused on leaving no one behind in the effort to improve access to healthcare services all over Uganda, we have now introduced a decentralised systems that helps us plan better for regions and focus on specific healthcare challenges affecting those areas we work with.
The initiatives for 2024 include the expansion of quality services, the creation of community education systems, and investing in medical supplies, research, and clinical human resource.
We are engaging stake-holders across the world to learn, unlearn and re-learn approaches that promote access. We are creating partnerships and initiating conversations on clinical topics that impact access, quality and patient safety to ensure the best, world standards are applied in our work.
40% of total Ugandan health care expenditures are out-of-pocket (World Bank) and 80% of the total population are at risk of catastrophic or impoverishing expenditures due to surgical care yet more that 90% of Ugandans live on less than $2 a day.
We work with communities to ensure facilities that make impact to them are facilitated. Community members choose the facilities that provide them with the services they need and we equip, train and support service provision in those health centers.
We survive on communities commitment to monitoring and supervising RHU efforts in their respective areas. We will continue to build capacity of community groups and their leaders to support RHU efforts in 2024 and the coming years.
RHU’s journey is changing because the needs of the communities we serve continue to change every year and so must we. We have worked tirelessly to bring services to patients in the last years and 2024 will not be any different.
The year comes to us with new changes, a lot in store and great commitment to our patients. In the coming months, we will hear and read of these changes in the work plan coming out this February.
