Drug distribution activity with a team from Korea.

Date: June 25th – 28th, 2018

Introduction:
The Korean Team, comprising Dr. Noh, Ms. Kim, Mr. Paul, Mr. Taeyeong and Director Jung, collaborated with Real Health Uganda (RHU), represented by Dr. Busonga, for a medical and orphans outreach program in Uganda. The activities spanned from logistical preparations to field visits at health centers and orphanages, aimed at providing medical assistance and assessing local healthcare needs.

Day 1: June 25th, 2018 (Monday) The team focused on initial preparations and logistical arrangements:

1. Currency Exchange and Fund Management:
   • Exchanged USD for Ugandan shillings and deposited remaining funds after deducting $2,400 for medicines into RHU Account.
2. Medicine Purchase:
   • Procured medicines worth 9,300,000 Ugandan shillings as requested by RHU for distribution.
3. Stationery Purchase:
   • Bought stationery supplies amounting to $200 for the upcoming orphanage visit.

Day 2: June 26th, 2018 (Tuesday) The team commenced field visits to health centers:

1. Health Center Visit:
   • Visited Ikumbya Health Center, delivered medicines, and engaged in discussions with staff.
2. Community Interaction:
   • Interacted with local children, fostering community engagement and goodwill.

Day 3: June 27th, 2018 (Wednesday) Continuation of health center visits and logistical support:

1. Health Center Visits:
   • Visited Maganjo Health Centre and Nabweru health center IV, providing medicines and assessing facility conditions.
2. Logistical Support:
   • Procured additional medicines to replenish supplies for subsequent visits.

Day 4: June 28th, 2018 (Thursday) The final day focused on concluding activities and reflections:

1. Meeting:
   • Conducted a meeting with RHU representatives and stakeholders to discuss collaboration, fund utilization, and healthcare needs.
2. Orphanage Visits:
   • Visited orphanages to deliver supplies and assess conditions, highlighting disparities and challenges.

Key Observations and Outcomes:

• Collaboration between the Korean Team and RHU facilitated effective medical outreach and logistical support.
• Disparities in healthcare facilities and government support were noted, emphasizing ongoing challenges.
• Community interactions and engagement contributed positively to the outreach program’s impact and outreach.

Conclusion: The visits conducted by the Korean Team and RHU showcased a blend of medical assistance, logistical coordination, and community engagement. The activities undertaken underscored the ongoing efforts needed to address healthcare disparities and support vulnerable communities in Uganda.
