Last April, a comprehensive Reproductive Health Services initiative was conducted in Kayunga, Lwatwo, focusing on providing essential Family Planning and STI Screening and Treatment services to the local community. The initiative aimed to improve reproductive health outcomes by offering accessible and confidential services, empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.

Objectives

  • Increase Access to Family Planning: To provide family planning services, including counseling, contraceptive distribution, and reproductive health education, to reduce the rates of unintended pregnancies and improve maternal and child health.
  • Prevent and Treat STIs: To offer screening, treatment, and counseling services for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, thereby reducing the prevalence of these infections in the community.
  • Enhance Reproductive Health Awareness: To educate the community on reproductive health issues, emphasizing the importance of safe sexual practices and regular health check-ups.

Key Activities

  1. Family Planning Services:
    • Counseling Sessions: Trained health workers conducted confidential counseling sessions to discuss various family planning methods, helping individuals and couples choose the most suitable options based on their health, lifestyle, and reproductive goals.
