Preparing for a Hospital Procedure
We are here to help you plan for your procedure. With your health and safety in mind, we’ve added even more safeguards in advance of your procedure, and we need your partnership to keep both you and our caregivers safe.
We know that COVID-19 spreads by:
- Touching a surface or object with the virus on it and then touching your face, or.
- Being near a sick person where droplets can spread up to 6 feet after a sneeze or cough.
Centura Health has worked with our care teams and has added the following pre-procedural COVID-19 safeguards to maintain your wellness as you prepare to have a procedure with us.
Please follow the additional safety recommendations below, every day, for 10 days prior to your procedure.
- Stay at home
- Maintain social distance and limit contact with others.
- Stay away from anyone who is sick.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Check temperature daily:
- Monitor for symptoms of cough or shortness of breath daily.
- Check for fever by taking and logging your temperature daily.
- If you have a fever, contact your healthcare provider.
On the day of your procedure please:
- Follow all pre-procedural recommendations
- Arrive at your scheduled time and location.

Our incredible caregivers, in coordination with officials at local health departments, follow all proper Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) protocols for patient handling of suspected COVID-19 cases. We are sharing the following information to provide background and hopefully address questions you may have.
We have instituted multiple practices to ensure the safety of our associates, patients and visitors, including:
- Adjusting visitation based on community levels of COVID-19.
- Implementing enhanced deep-cleaning procedures following guidelines from the Ministry Of Health and World Health Organisation.
Depending on the prevalence of COVID-19 in the community, a mask or face covering may be required to be worn in all areas of our ministry, including exam rooms, clinics, and hospitals.
- If you do not have one, we will provide you with a mask.
- If you are unable to wear a mask or face covering due to age, a medical reason, disability or it is necessary to see the mouth for communication purposes, we will discuss options with you.
